About The Old Man of Storr
The Old Man of Storr is one of the most famous walks on the Isle of Skye. The "Old Man" itself is a large rock that stands high above the surrounding area and can be seen for miles around. The hike is part of the Trotternish loop and was created by a massive ancient landslide and much erosion.
The Storr walking trail is an out-and-back gravel pathway, but provides a medium challenge given that most of the walk is uphill (some of which involve minor scrambling). It's a beautiful walk in most weather conditions, but the carpark is fairly small and fills up quickly.
Drive north on A855 from Portree, Scotland for approx. 6.8 miles. There is a small carpark on the left (west) side of the road. The trailhead is on the north side of the carpark.
