About Tonquin Trail
On the southwest edge of Tofino, is Tonquin Trail. An an easy walking trail that passes through Pacific coast rainforests and provides access to Tonquin Beach.
The trailhead is within walking distance from downtown Tofino and can be reached by Tonquin Park Road or from the Tofino Community Hall. Drive to the end of Tonquin Park Road, where you'll find a small parking lot and public toilet. The trailhead is at the end of the parking lot.
The trail itself is well marked and mostly gravel, however there are numerous wooden bridges and staircases along the path and the occasional wooden platform with great views of the ocean and beaches. The beach itself is a popular spot during the summer and a great place to catch a sunset.
From downtown Tofino, drive down and park at the end of Tonquin Park Road. The trailhead is at the end of the parking lot.
